Biography

Dr. Camille Brockett-Walker, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, is a clinical associate professor and assistant dean in the Office of Academic Advancement at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, where she previously served as director of the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) Program. A respected academic leader and advanced practice nurse, she is dual certified as both a family nurse practitioner and an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner.

In addition to her academic leadership, Dr. Brockett-Walker maintains an active clinical practice as a critical care nurse practitioner at Grady Memorial Hospital and as a hospitalist at Emory University Hospital. Her broad clinical background includes critical care, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and hematology/oncology, reflecting more than 20 years of experience across complex and high-impact healthcare settings.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University in 2006, followed by a Master of Science degree from Emory University in 2007, where she certified as a family nurse practitioner. She later completed a post-master’s certificate in Adult Gerontology Acute Care and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Mercer University in 2018.

Since joining the Emory faculty in 2018, Dr. Brockett-Walker has taught across pre-licensure and post-licensure programs. Her scholarship centers on equity and inclusion, with a strong focus on diversifying the nurse and nurse faculty workforce. Her dedication to academic excellence, leadership development, and clinical practice continues to influence the next generation of nurses and nurse leaders.

Dr. Brockett-Walker continues to build a strong national presence through scholarship and professional presentations. Her publication currently in press in The Nurse Practitioner, titled From Clinician to Educator: An Evidence-Based Guide for APRNs Transitioning to Academic Roles: The PEIS Method, highlights her commitment to supporting advanced practice nurses as they transition into academic roles.

She is also scheduled for multiple national podium presentations in 2026, including presentations for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing ACE Symposium, and the National League for Nursing Summit, where she will address clinical competency assessment and strategies for cultivating and sustaining the nursing faculty workforce.
