Biography
Dr. Carol Biggs, MBA-HA, DHSc, RN, a distinguished nurse leader whose career reflects excellence in leadership, service, and dedication to advancing the nursing profession.
Dr. Biggs currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive at Jackson Health System, one of the largest county hospital systems in the United States. She also serves as Associate Dean for Academic Health Centers Integration at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies, where she helps strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare systems.
Recently, Dr. Biggs was unanimously named President-Elect of the Nursing Consortium of Florida Inc. by the Consortium’s board. In this role, she will continue contributing her leadership and vision to advancing nursing education, collaboration, and workforce development across Florida. Beginning in January 2027, she will serve as President of the Nursing Consortium of Florida, helping strengthen the future of nursing across the state.
Often described as a true “nurse’s nurse,” Dr. Biggs leads with compassion, humility, and wisdom. Her journey began as a young Jamaican immigrant nurse with a powerful dream—not only to care for patients but also to help transform healthcare systems so that every individual, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, gender, or background, has access to compassionate and high-quality care.
