About the Council

TNM International Advisory Council

To ensure the highest level of excellence and global impact, candidates for the TNM International Advisory Council will be evaluated based on seven selection criteria. All nominations must be submitted through the official six-step nomination process outlined in this document.

The TNM International Advisory Council brings together the world's most distinguished nursing professionals, educators, healthcare leaders, and innovators to shape TNM's global advisory infrastructure. Council members serve as ambassadors for The Nurses Magazine® and the nursing profession at large.

The inaugural cohort will be formally recognized as "Founding Members of the TNM International Advisory Council" — a historic distinction presented at the Second Annual Nurses Magazine Awards & Symposium.

Part I — Selection Criteria

7 Standards for Council Membership

All candidates are evaluated on the following seven criteria by the TNM leadership selection committee. Self-nominations and referrals are both accepted.

Criterion 01
Professional Leadership & Experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years in nursing, healthcare leadership, academia, or policy
  • Qualifying roles include: Chief Nursing Officer, Healthcare Executive, Dean or Faculty Leader, Public Health or Policy Leader
Criterion 02
Global or Regional Impact
  • Proven contributions to advancing healthcare locally, nationally, or internationally
  • Experience working across diverse populations or healthcare systems
  • Evidence of influence in improving health outcomes, education, or policy
Criterion 03
Commitment to Nursing Excellence
  • Strong alignment with TNM's mission to elevate nursing leadership
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and diversity in healthcare
  • Active role in advancing innovation in nursing or healthcare delivery
Criterion 04
Thought Leadership & Visibility
  • Publications, speaking engagements, or notable media presence
  • Recognized contributions in nursing leadership, healthcare innovation, or workforce development
Criterion 05
Strategic Influence & Network
  • Ability to open doors for partnerships, sponsorships, and institutional collaborations
  • Strong professional network, national or international in scope
Criterion 06
Engagement & Commitment
  • Willingness to participate in quarterly advisory meetings
  • Active involvement in TNM initiatives, events, and global outreach
  • Commitment to mentorship within the nursing community

Diversity & Global Representation
  • TNM is committed to geographic diversity across the council
  • Reflects cultural perspectives and gender diversity
  • Represents varied professional backgrounds and specialties
Part II — Nomination Process

Six-Step Official Process

All nominations must follow the six-step process below. Applications are reviewed by TNM leadership and the selection committee.

Call for Nominations
  • Public announcement via TNM website, LinkedIn, social media, and partner organizations

Submission Requirements
  • Completed nomination form
  • Current CV or résumé
  • Professional bio (150–250 words)
  • Headshot photograph
  • Statement of interest (max 300 words)

Step 3
Review & Evaluation
  • Applications reviewed by TNM leadership and selection committee
  • Evaluated on impact, leadership, mission alignment, and global representation balance

Step 4
Interview (Optional)
  • Select candidates may be invited for a brief virtual interview with TNM leadership

Step 5
Final Selection & Appointment
  • Formal appointment letter, council expectations document, and onboarding materials sent to selected candidates

Step 6
Public Announcement
  • Official announcement via TNM website, official press release, and social media campaign
