Biography

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate Dr Sheena Ramazanu, a nurse leader whose work is transforming communities across Asia with purpose, compassion, and vision. Her journey reflects a powerful commitment to building healthier, more equitable systems through leadership that bridges research, education, advocacy, and service.

As an Emerging Leaders Fellow focused on health and climate action, Dr Ramazanu is helping shape conversations around the future of healthcare in ways that respond to both present needs and long-term global challenges. Her work highlights the growing importance of regional collaboration and international engagement in strengthening health systems and advancing equity.

She currently serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, where she contributes to meaningful research and dialogue influencing healthcare far beyond borders. Through this work, she continues to bring thoughtful insight to issues affecting communities across the region and around the world.

Her impact is especially significant in Indonesia, where she serves as Visiting Assistant Professor at Universitas Serang Raya. In this role, she works closely with academic and community partners to advance climate and health initiatives, empower professionals, and strengthen local capacity to respond to emerging health challenges.
