Biography
Dr. Lois V. Greene, DHA, MBA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, FADLN is the Senior Vice President of Wellness, Human Experience & Population Health at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. In this role, she leads enterprise strategies that advance patient experience, population health, workforce well-being, and community engagement within New Jersey’s public academic health system.
Dr. Greene is a seasoned nurse executive and healthcare leader with a career spanning clinical nursing, nursing education, and health system administration. She has held roles as an educator, an author, a public speaker, and healthcare administrator, bringing a unique perspective that integrates the science, art, and leadership of nursing and community advancement.
Her work focuses on strengthening healthcare access, addressing social drivers of health, and building systems that improve outcomes for underserved communities. At University Hospital, she oversees initiatives that connect clinical care with community-based supports, including programs addressing housing instability, violence prevention, maternal and child health, and culturally responsive care.
Dr. Greene is actively engaged in professional and community leadership. She serves on the board of the YMCA of Newark and Vicinity, The Mary Eliza Mahoney Health Center and has held several leadership roles within nursing organizations, including past president of the Concerned Black Nurses of Newark and leadership positions within the New Jersey State Nurses Association. She is also the author of Beyond the Spectrum, a book exploring autism in adulthood and the importance of understanding neurodiversity across the lifespan.
